Christmas at La Grange

Christmas is a magical time of year and its a time for the whole family to enjoy together. But this is sometimes difficult if you have a large family and a small house to entertain everyone in. So why not consider planning a Christmas with a difference - a Christmas in France.

La Grange sleeps up to 10 people comfortably and we could also arrange for up to six additional guests to be accommodated in another well appointed rental property only one minute away from La Grange. If that is not enough, then provided we are not using the garden guest house at Le Bourg for our own guests then we can offer you a further four beds for your use.

What you can expect.

When you arrive at La Grange you will find that the house has been decorated with a lighted Christmas tree and a variety of colourful decorations and that all will be ready for Santa's arrival on Christmas Eve. The house will be warm and welcoming and ready for you to hang up your Christmas stockings.

In the fridge you will find a bottle of the local Pineau and a bottle of champagne along with a variety of nibbles to start your festive season.

We would suggest that at least one member of your party drives down to La Grange in order to bring any presents and some of the traditional British Christmas treats such as a Christmas pudding and a pork pie. Others may either accompany the driver or alternatively fly or take the train and then hire a car.

The village of Chille is draped with Christmas lights and there may even be a chance of snow - although it has also sometimes been warm enough at midday to have your pre-Christmas lunch drinks outside.

On Christmas Eve there is a midnight mass at the local church in Aigre - how very different to see it all done in a foreign language.

At night you can enjoy watching the television or you can borrow one of the family games that we have at Le Bourg and play it. We also have a selection of DVDs and videos for your amusement.

In France, people only take Christmas Day and New Year's Day as holidays so you will be able to go exploring the local area and visiting the local attractions every day except for the two main holidays. There are a number of restaurants that we would recommend to your attention.
